They All Played A Part
Squanto was arguably one of the most helpful people for the Plymouth plantation. He negotiated peace treaty between the Pilgrims and the Native Americans that lasted for at least twenty four years. This is essential since there was already an attack on the Pilgrims by the Indians that ended in Native American deaths. Besides the Pilgrims not being hurt, they still suffered from starvation and other diseases that would weaken the Pilgrims enough for the Natives to wipe them out if they were given the chance. Since Squanto knew good English and created this treaty, the settlers were allowed to stay in America. He also acted as their guide and also showed them different ways to plant and grow different crops. This helped the starvation in the colony dissipate. This was crucial in order for the Pilgrims to live. That is why I think Squanto was extremely important.
